I am an experienced manager with a decade of experience leading social businesses and impact investments funds that endeavor to address major social inequalities. I am a Partner at Mercy Corps' Social Ventures team, leveraging my experience launching early stage ventures to help Mercy Corps identify, invest in and scale impact-oriented, for-profit businesses. The Social Venture Fund is a seed stage impact fund that invests up to $300,000 (debt / equity) in innovative start-ups in the following areas: agriculture, financial services, last-mile distribution, and youth employment. Since our launch in mid-2015, we have closed 14 investments. I identified, closed and now manage seven SVF investments across SE Asia and Latam. I have led social ventures in Cambodia, Vietnam, and Afghanistan, including Joma Bakery Cafe, Hagar Social Enterprise Group and Artillery Group. I have also advised impact investment funds and social businesses in Southern Africa, East Africa and Southeast Asia, including Insitor Fund, Inkomoko, Bertha Philanthropy Fund and Uberis Capital. I currently hold board positions on Joma International, Artillery Group, Agruppa and other SVF portfolio companies. I am based in Bogota, Colombia and manage Mercy Corps' investment portfolio across Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Myanmar and Nepal) and Latin America (Guatemala and Colombia).
